Splish, Splash, I was taking a bath!!!

For Easter Avery got bath toys from the Easter bunny. She loves them! She usually will suck on one of the claws on the crab for a while then move on to the others all while the crab is hanging out of her mouth! We are at the stage where EVERYTHING goes in her mouth. We got her a John Deere tractor with farm animals that make noise, she loves it but I think her daddy loves it more:) When we play with it with her, there is a farmer, a pig, a horse, a cow and a sheep that all have a place in the tractor and make its own individual animal noise. I would put the farmer and the animals in and slowly one by one she would take out the animals and the farmer and give them a lick and then the next poor animal would get a taste! She is too cute! When we are out in the living room we usually keep the bathroom, the study and our bedroom door closed, so she just has crawling room of the kitchen, dining room and living room, but every time she makes a lap she has a different binky in her mouth! The other night Brian and I were eating dinner at the table and Ave was in her highchair when Avery starting her high pitch grunts ( I think Brian taught her this) in which Brian replies with a low grunt and this will continue for a bit. Brian then did a high grunt which Ave replied in a low grunt. She is SO clever, we have a quick study on our hands!
We gave our first talk here in the branch yesterday, so hopefully we are safe for another year:) I got called to be 2nd counselor in RS, so I guess that just means I get to be over Enrichment and do it too:) AHHH..blessings of being in a branch:)
Here are some pics from her bath the other night...man we love her!

Avery the Daredevil!

Yesterday, Avery was SUPPOSED to be taking a nap when I heard her mobile music going off. I couldn't think of any reason why it would be going so I peaked into her room and found her "hanging" from the mobile! She was bouncing up and down shaking the mobile to death. This is the first of us seeing her "standing" up in her crib. Scared me to death, she is not afraid of falling and bonking her head, she is right back to pulling herself back into a standing position. Her poor head has little bumps and bruises all over! When daddy got home last night we put the crib in a lower position, alot harder task then we thought it would be!! So this morning I find her standing up in her crib, I am not too worried about her falling overboard now that the crib is lowered. So here are some pics of little miss Avery the daredevil! The pics in her diaper are before the crib lowering.

I LOVE this PIC!! What a poser!

So far April is off to an excellent start, we are glad to get the month of March behind us:) Big news in the Johnson home is: AVERY IS CRAWLING! We couldn't wait til she could crawl, but now that she is crawling we realized it would been ok if she waited a little while longer! She has her crawling down now and is off exploring the world (our apt that is). She is holding her bottle to eat, does not want us to hold the bottle. She is Little Miss Independent! She has things to see and things to do and we are just in her way at times! It is exciting to see her personality growing each day! We are working on the word NO, she just shakes her head back at us and goes on doing what she was doing previously. She has scared us a few times when we walk in to see her STANDING up in her crib..talk about giving mom a heart attack. Along with her new skills comes bumps and bruises. I feel like putting a helmet on my poor child, but I guess with each bump and bruise comes learning and experience, I still would like to wrap her up in bubble wrap! Now when you ask for "kisses" she just sticks out her tongue and then goes for your face! Nothing better then wet, slobbery kisses! Gotta love it! I have been working with Avery to say "mama" and much to my demise after saying mama, mama to her a few times she comes back with "dada, dada, dadadaa"..Brian is so proud and just eats it up! I am NOT giving up! I can't believe she is 9 months old, she is getting so big, so full of life. I am so blessed!
We had a great Easter, it was cold here so we had to get Avery a warmer Easter dress and some tights to wear! Only in Texas can you have weather like this! We didn't get her an Easter basket, but we got her some bath tub toys and a stuffed Duck. We put some Gerber puffs in some plastic eggs for her to shake around and play with. We had dinner with a family from church and had a really enjoyable Sabbath.
