A Funny for Friday

Talk about scary times! I read in the local newspaper that foreclosures in Utah are up 147%, yes one-hundred and forty-seven percent!! When we go to Brian's parents in Draper, we pass by a subdivision that was finished building when we moved here LAST year and not ONE has been sold. They are probably 350,000 dollar homes, about 9 of them that have been sitting completed, but empty for over a year. A couple of weeks ago I heard about a home that was auctioned off in Draper, a 1.2 million dollar home sold off for 600,000 dollars.
In other news, our home has been hit with the horrible cold. My baby's cough is something you should never hear from a 7 month old. She sounds like she has been smoking 2 pack of cigarettes a day for 50 years, horrible. I have a cough that will wake up the neighborhood and who would of thought one person could produce soo much snot. I know, not a pleasant thought..but it hasn't been a very pleasant couple of days. I wanted to take the girls to a corn belly maze this weekend, but it looks like I will be doing more of the same, lying on the couch coughing my lungs out and blowing my nose. I have resorted to using baby wipes to blow my nose with, my poor nose was starting to think about removing itself from my body, wipes have helped soothe!
I also wanted to spread some holiday cheer, or help bring in fall with these yummy cookies! I remember Morgan making something similar but she said she makes it differently, so I found these. They are so good, quick and easy!
Pumpkin Spice Cookies
1 box Spice cake mix---just the mix
1 15oz can of Pumpkin
Mix til well blended and drop by the tablespoon onto greased cookie sheet. Cook at 350 for 10 mins. (check them, due to higher altitude here they might cook shorter/longer).
While still warm, drizzle with soften cream cheese frosting!
OTHER alternatives....add chocolate chips and/or walnuts to the mix...Very good, just leave off cream cheese frosting.
Trust me, these little cookies will NOT disappoint. Just go and try them will ya!

Photo Shoot

Why anyone likes to go and get family portraits done is beyond me! Taking pictures with a 2 year old is pure torture. Brian's brother came into town this weekend and the cousins went and had their pictures taken. We got a few good ones, but it was a rough time trying to get the ones we did!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Ave eating a pear off Mama and Papa's pear tree!

Serious bed head!

It is 37 degrees outside right now and I actually saw a few snow flakes this morning. The mountain tops are starting to get white with snow. I love it! I had Butterscotch Hot Chocolate this evening, so good. Soup and hot chocolate time, two of my faves.
Big news, D bug is sleeping through the night. 9pm to 7 am! I waited a while to post before I jinxed myself. It has been about a week now and it's been heavenly. She is also sitting up on her own. It is funny because at first she would stick both of her arms straight out while she sat up. I guess she needed some "wings" for extra balance. She is getting better and better at sitting up each day and the arms are slowly coming back down. She is such a funny little girl and smiles *most* of the day.
This morning I went to Super Saturday at church for a few hours and I called Brian after it was over to see if I needed to come home or if I was safe to run an errand. I had a good laugh after talking to him, the conversation went something like this.
me: How's everything going? Is Delaney crying?
Brian: (voice sounding very stressed) Things are fine, Delaney is about to fall asleep on the couch and I am about to kill Avery.
me: Well, do you need me to come home now or can you manage for a little while longer? ( I wasn't worried about Avery, I was concerned about a starving Delaney)
Brian: No, things are fine. I am just very disappointed in our eldest daughter. She keeps telling me "NO" or "Stop it!" (I wonder where she learned that!) and I just don't understand why she won't listen to me! I can't get anything done!
me: (Laughing hysterically on the inside and thinking to myself now you know what I deal with on a daily basis!!!!!!!) I will be home soon.
When I got home Brian told me that he had a "talk" with Avery and things were better! I need to leave him home with the girls more often. That was the LONGEST he has been home with both girls and it was only for 4 hours!
**I don't know why, but Blogger will not format the way I want it to! Sorry, it looks all crammed together. I tried!***

Grand Slam!

Success! Delaney slept through the night. She went to bed at 9:30 and I woke her up at 6 before the feeding mechanisms exploded. My body isn't use to her not eating every 3 hours. She woke up twice during the night and fussed for less than 10 mins and went back to sleep. I stood my ground. I am so proud of my little girl. Now cross our fingers that it happens again tonight and every night there after. It gives me hope that she did it once and she didn't die of starvation, that she can sleep through the night ALL the time! Thanks for all the advice and support.
