I was talking on the phone with Kitten and she tells me that I needed to post more frequently on our blog. This reprimand was coming from the girl who just NOW got a blog after months and months of telling her by Morgie and I that she needed to break down and do it. As we were talking on the phone Avery climbed from her little Tykes picnic table on top of a drafting table of my in laws that is in the corner of the basement. I told her I would take a picture of it and post it on the blog. So here is evidence of our little monkey. She makes me nervous, she has no fear. The life of being a 17month old, never a dull moment around here. She now has a passion for her baby wipes and finds joy in emptying out the container one wipe at a time. The wipes are now in lock up.
I also posted pics of Ave enjoying a refreshing beverage of ice cold whole milk.

24 weeks and Counting!
Today I hit the 24th week mark in the pregnancy. I had another OB appt today and had a second ultrasound. This time the tech was 100% positive that the baby is a GIRL! So it has been confirmed that we are having another little girl, so the hard part starts..picking a name that we both like. The baby is doing good and growing healthfully, only gained 2 pounds, which I can thank the holiday feast for:( Avery went with me to this appt strapped into her stroller, she now has been banned from joining mommy to the doctor, unless her daddy comes with. She just HATES being tied down and I was such a bad mom by continuing to give her sweet tarts to help keep her happy and quiet..didn't work very well. Speaking of being a bad mommy, the last couple of nights, Ave has been waking up crying and refused to go back in her crib and ends up in between us in bed..not a good nights sleep! Well last night I kept trying and trying to get her to go back to sleep but she whined for almost an hour. I was just exhausted and tired of trying to get her to sleep that we ended up in the bed in her room. I felt so bad this morning when I felt two of her molars popping thru! Ugh, I felt horrible for not recognizing her cries in pain and not giving her something to help with that! Lesson learned.
Yesterday evening it snowed and it snowed this afternoon as well. I love the snow, I love the cold weather, I love fall/winter, I love the look of snow on the mountains and covering everything. It is such a beautiful sight to see.
I posted some pics of Avery yesterday in her cute little pink NIKE tennies that her Gma Johnson got for her. She is also wearing a Wyoming sweatshirt that she also got for her during her last trip to WY. I think those are the cutest shoes she owns at the moment. She loves them too, she will bring them to us to put them on her, even when she has on her fleece pj's. She is a character and I am glad she is all mine!

Happy Thanksgiving

Kristin and Ellie making the best cinnamon rolls ever!! Yummy!

Baby Kamilla

Avery attacking Millie, trying to get some kisses in!

We had a great Thanksgiving. Brian's brother, Chauncy, and his wife Kelli and daughters Ellie and Millie came down from Laramie, WY for the week and Kelli's sister, Kristin, came up from Vegas. I ate too much, thank goodness for maternity pants. I have a ob appt on Wed so I am nervous for the "weigh" in. Avery absolutely loved baby Millie. She is only 5 weeks old an all tiny and cute. Avery loved rubbing her fuzzy bald head and giving her many, many kisses. When Millie was in the room, Avery wanted to be right next to her. It looks like she is going to be a great big sister! She is all sad today, the house is empty, her cousins are gone and its just boring mommy!
We also learned this week that Avery is still too young to go to the movies. We all went to see Bee Movie and she was not enjoying the movie so Brian spent most of the time standing up in the back or in the hallway! Poor daddy. I guess it will be more movie rentals for a while at our house. Aunt Kelli also taught Avery the sign for more and after about three times she has got it down, not very consistently, but I was very impressed. We will work on please this week. When Avery was about 9 months I worked on a couple of signs with her, but it wasn't really working, I think she was too young..but she seems to understand now, so we will keep working on it!

Quite an Imagination.
I have to apologize for the last post. I noticed my sister Morgan had changed the look of her blog and she offered to help. Well this is what I get for giving her my password! Love ya sis! take a look at her blog for the retaliation!

My beautiful sister
This morning I woke up with this overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my sister, Morgan. I mean, don't get me wrong, Katie is ok too, but she is not NEARLY as good looking. So naturally, I favor the better looking of the two, which would be Morgan. Anyway, I just woke up this morning realizing how much I want to be like her and how cool she is. I am especially envious of her eyebrows. And her husband- WOWZERS. What a hottie he is. I wish I could have scored him up.
I love everything about her. And my nephew Brent, that's a whole nother story. He has to be the most beautiful baby ever created. And why, you might ask, is he so beautiful? Well, that's because his parents are ridiculously good looking.
I'm not sure why I favor Morgan over Katie. Katie has a bit of a smell about her that turns me off. Morgan always smells like she just stepped out of the shower. Katie smells more like a kitty litter box sometimes... sometimes she smells a little fishy too. But Morgan. Wow. I wish I could put her in a bottle and make perfume out of it and be able to spray some "Morgan" all over my body. Morgan also has way better hair than Katie and I wish mine could look like hers.
I also wanted to confess a secret to all of my blogging friends. Sometimes I like to eat raw hamburger meat. Some people think it is gross, but I just wish you all would try it. It is FABULOUS! Especially if you put some cinnamon on it. To die for. I'm telling you.
Well, that's all for now. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
Love,
Lauren

ITS ANOTHER....
GIRL!! We had an ultrasound this morning and the tech is almost positive that its another girl! The baby was being stubborn and wouldn't cooperate and the umbilical cord kept getting in the way. She already has a stubborn streak. Just like her mamma and big sister Avery. We will have another ultrasound in two weeks to double check but everything looks good, she is healthy and developing great. We are beyond blessed and excited for another little girl. Unfortunately Brian wasn't able to go due to work, but Grandma Johnson and Avery were able to see the baby. Avery was not to impressed with the whole thing. Now we need to think of names..any ideas would be appreciated!
In other news, Avery had her checkup yesterday. She is absolutely perfect in every way. The doctor commented on how busy and active she is..all I could do was laugh. He has no idea..hehe. She weighs 22lbs 5 oz, 32 inches long. So 90% for height, 75% for head, and 50% for weight! She got four shots and that made for a unhappy and yucky feeling little girl. She has been so fussy and running a temp from them.

16 Months Old
My baby is growing up so fast. Yesterday she turned the big 1-6 months. I can't believe she has been apart of our family for 16 months. I can't imagine how boring life would be if she wasn't apart of it. She is learning new things every day. She loves dancing to music, I will have to post a video of her getting down. Its hilarious! New words, "dink" for drink. She is pointing to everything and grunting and climbing on everything. She is obsessed with pens and pencils and crawling on top of the kitchen chairs, which really upsets her when we don't let her have those things or take her down off the chairs. She loves babies, if she sees one on TV or at church or wherever it may be, she stares and points and babbles to them. It is the cutest thing to watch. She is a great eater, loves fruit and most veggies, and loves her naps. She is a big helper unfolding the laundry as I am doing it or wanting to take the dishes out of the dishwasher, sharpest knife first. One of my favorite things about Avery is that she loves to snuggle and give love, she loves her grandparents and aunts/uncles and her cousins and loves to give the best hugs!

UMMM...Come Again?
Last night Brian and I were lying in bed and the bean was having a party in my belly. It is the greatest feeling, even if I was trying to fall asleep! Brian finally got to feel the baby kicking. Then Brian says, "That is neatest thing ever. It doesn't matter if its the first baby or the tenth." I had to ask him to clarify that statement before I rolled over and had a heart attack. There is no way that I will be a part of having 10 kids, I am not crazy. I got a good laugh at him though!

Tag...I'm It!
My 'lil sis tagged me to name 10 things that I am thankful for. So, here I go.
* First of course, my husband, Brian. He is my best friend, my cheerleader, my foot warmer, the best daddy I could of ever dreamed for Avery and future kiddos. He is such a hard worker and provider in every which way for our family. I am thankful that he works so hard that I am able to stay at home and enjoy my daughter.
* My 'lil stinker Avery. She is such a blessing. As much as I tease that I am going to sale her to the highest bidder at times, I wouldn't trade her for anything. She has taught me so much about me as a person and I am lucky to be her mommy!
* My tweezers! Brian will tell you that I couldn't live without knowing where they are at all times.
* Hair ties. My hair drives me crazy. Especially when pregnant, I have so many baby wispies and while I was in Laredo I had some crazy idea that bangs would look good on me. Uh- No, now I am dealing with the growing out phase and they drive me nuts. So by the end of the day, my hair is in a pile on the top of my head.
* Soup. I love soup. Could eat it for every meal, ask my husband and my good friend Kelli. They would tell you I am obsessed with soup, I would just call it love!
* Cold weather. I love not walking out the door and having my makeup slide off my face or heat taking my breath away. I am excited to be in Utah for winter. Hopefully I will feel the same way in December:) hehe.
* Goes along with the above--HOT chocolate. I couldn't drink it like I would of liked to in Texas, there are really only two cold days. Today I picked up some Stephen's hot chocolate, Dulce de leche Carmel. Sounds yummy huh! Can't wait for a nice big mug to warm me up.
* My family. These aren't in any particular order:) They mean the world to me and its hard to be so far away from them all. My mother always told me to be nice to my sisters bc they will end up being your best friend. My sisters really are my best friends!
* Being pregnant. Not the side effects of pregnancy but the outcome of the pregnancy. I am thankful every time I feel the little bean move or kick, reminding myself of this makes it so much better when my pants don't fit!
* Good music and good books. Listening to good music almost always puts me in a good mood. I wish they would hold off on the Christmas music for a while longer, that does kind of burn me out when all of the stations are playing Christmas music the day after Halloween. I'm not a scrooge or anything.
So there are my ten things, deep and not so deep.

What Makes Me Smile!
We have hit a HUGE milestone in the Johnson family. Avery has just enough hair to hold a clip in it! Well for about 4.5seconds and then it falls out. I need to find some clippies that work for a baby's hair that is folliclely challenged. Her hair is FINALLY growing, but it is still so thin and there isn't really alot of it. I just want to put clips and pigtails and bows in her hair, just because I can. We get so irritated at people who are clueless when they see a baby in ALL pink with pink shoes on and say HE! UGH, pay attention people or don't say anything at all.
Moving on to something exciting...the "fetus" aka jelly bean is kicking and moving alot of the time. We still haven't found out the sex of the baby yet, I think I will just wait it out a little bit longer just to drive my sisters crazy! hehe. I am already starting my 22nd week. I can't believe how fast it has gone by. I am just glad the all day sickness is gone, now if I can just get the heartburn to go away, I would be on cloud 9. My sister-in-law Holly gave us a book, "I'm a Big Sister". We have been reading it to Avery on occasion, I don't think she really cares at this point, but she loves babies. Brian's cousin, Lacy, was visiting this weekend and she has a 4 month old that she was trying to nurse and Avery kept walking over to her trying to lift the blanket off of her to uncover the baby! It was soo cute, well until she stepped on him! Baby Andrew didn't seem to notice and Avery was too busy trying to get over to Lacy. She kept looking and touching his little feet, so hopefully she will be the same with her baby bro or sister. But I am guessing she will be perfect until she realizes the baby is here to stay.
