The last couple of weeks have been busy! My parents were able to come visit over Memorial Day weekend, it was their first time to visit us here. On Monday we went down to the border markets the Mercado just for the "experience" of it all. It is not safe to go across to Nuevo Laredo these days, so that was as close as we could get to Mexico, although we still felt VERY out of place. It was 98 degrees that day and of course I didn't even think about bringing a little hat for Avery. We didn't want to get her little bald head sunburned, so we stopped at several little shops to find a hat small enough to fit her little head. We finally found one that would "do"...it was little mermaid (eeh) but it was only 99cents. We then stopped at some "import" stores along the street and found some neat things, my father kept trying to talk my mother into buying this horribly tacky fountain..the man has no taste! After we went and ate some really good Mexican food. You have to eat at Taco Palenque when you visit Laredo, 9 out 10 locals would agree:). It was yummy. Avery had fun seeing her abuelos and Zoe. She really got a kick out of chasing Zoe around, giggling, poking her eyes out, pulling her hair...Zoe on the other hand...not so much, she was ready to go home!
The other pic of Avery is what happens when you leave Daddy in "charge" I came into the living room to find Avery with chocolate ALL over her face, but daddy says..it was just "a little" bite! He was guilty and Avery was in heaven!
