Two Weeks

Tomorrow will hit the two week mark of living in Utah. There are a few things that I have learned.

* Drivers in Utah are just as bad if not worse than in Texas. We had driven 1700 miles across the country without any damage to the vehicles or the rented Penske truck. The day we were to return the truck a kind lady knocked on our door and informed us that she had hit the trailer parked in front of the house! Now I do have to say that in Laredo you would not get anyone knocking on the door, they would of driven off! The lady hit the trailer so hard that it knocked the trailer clear up on to the yard! We had to call Penske to come and bang out the tire fender thing so we could at least drive it back to the lot!

* The weather is beautiful. It has been in the 40's in the morning and high has been in the 70's! Gotta love that. We had to get Avery long sleeve clothes to wear. I have never seen Fall colors like I have here. The colors on the trees are so vibrant and beautiful. In Texas it seems like there is just a Long summer and maybe winter. There is snow already in the mountain peaks.

* They have this concoction of ketchup and miracle whip called Fry Sauce that they serve instead of ketchup. Not a fan of it yet.

* I can listen to LDS musicians on the radio! Never in Texas. I was lucky if I could listen to an English station in Laredo!

* Apple Beer, yep carbonated apple juice. Enough said.

* Bang. My brother-in-law instroduced this term to us. Apparently the drink mix TANG is a favorite among many here. At mini-marts they have those frosty like slurpee drinks, well this is a whipped Tang, a Bang. Haven't tried yet, will keep ya posted!

* Only in Utah will you see a sign that states: WILL TRADE WHEAT FOR LIVESTOCK! WHAT? still confused!
