Chubby Baby!
She adores her big sister!
Disclaimer: Brian picked out the mismatched outfit!
Delaney is becoming a chubby baby! I love chubby babies, Avery was always so dang skinny, not to say that I loved her any less! I just love the chubby thighs and cheeks. She is getting so big, way too fast! We put her in the excersaucer this week and for about 5 minutes, she loves it! She still refuses to take a bottle and we have tried the tricks the pediatrician suggested without success. Anyone have a baby that refused a bottle and if so how did you get he/she to take it?? I would love to be able to go and do something without fear of a breakdown on her part and the part of the person/daddy watching her.
Avery is teaching her mom and dad a lot of patience! I almost ran away after one HORRIBLE AND EMBARRASSING trip to Target one afternoon. Avery was a terror. My father in law calls her the little terrorist, which this day proved to be the truth! She wanted to push the cart which she was doing a great job at until we stopped to pick of prescriptions at the pharmacy and she didn't want to stop. She wanted to continued to push the cart full speed ahead into the benches that were bolted to the floor at the pharmacy. It would of been fine if it wasn't for the fact that Delaney was in her car seat, inside the cart, getting whiplash every time her sister took a running start into the bench. I picked her (Avery) up and then she proceeded to have a monster-sized breakdown. She was screaming so loud, I swear people were coming out of the isles to see who was beating this child, only to see this two year old beating up on her mother, hitting me and kicking her shoes off in every which direction. Delaney then starts to cry and I get the prescriptions and check out with the few things I had managed to save from Avery throwing out of the cart in all her madness and run for home!
I have a cry for help from all my veteran mommy friends! What do you do in these situations? How did you survive the terrible twos without being turned into CPS?? My dad told me after this incident, Lauren, go easy on her! I had to laugh, shouldn't it be the other way around?!!

Three words: Two year old!!
I love the chubbiness! Brandon is really good at embarrassing me in public. Why are their tantrums in public so much worse than when we're at home? I'm sure to be turned in any day now. At least twice Brandon has started yelling, "Stop, Mom. You're hurting me. Stop hitting me." I wasn't even near him!
We have that same excersaucer. Bought it for $20 at the 2nd hand store.
Shelby loves to walk around by the toys in any store we go. So I do my shopping and we always look at the toys. If she gets anxious I start playing a game: Can you find something that is pink? I usually have some kind of snack to distract also. Good Luck!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that picture of Avery! she looks so cute!!! Mom loves the pictures too.
Emma did that to me at a CiCi's Pizza. Throwing food and having a huge fit. It is soooo hard to correct bad behavior in public!!!! I made her standing in the conner at the CiCi's Pizza. Emma wasn't happy about it but once she realized I mean business and was not backing down, she calmed down. A man saw me do this and came over to me. I was thinking to myself,"don't even start to give me a lecture about punishing MY child or you are going to have a piece of my mind." I was already pissed off at Emma and this guys was walking over to me. WATCH OUT MISTER!!! He smiled and said,"your a good mom for correcting bad behavior in public. Most moms in public don't and their kids are brats when they are older. He told me a short story of what happened to him. Then chatted for a moment." That was it and he walked off. I was speechless. Then I saw others glaring at me but I didn't care.
All I can say about it is something you already know...teaching them that kind of behavior is unacceptable!!! A good trick is to remind them to behave before you get out of the car and keep reminding them. Make fun to be good. Good Luck.
