HaLLoWeeN!

Brooklyn (Dorothy), Avery (Cow), and Kailey (Tinker Bell)

What a frightening night it was! We joined the masses and took Avery and Delaney trick-or-treating Friday night. Ty invited us to join him and his girls for the night. Avery had no idea really what Halloween was all about, she would just follow her cousins up to the door and while they got candy she turned around and came back to us, without getting candy. With or without candy, she had fun. Kailey, my littlest niece who is almost 20 months old, was more into it than Avery was. She had it down, ride in the stroller to the door and then get out walk to the door get out and get back into the stroller and get pushed to the next door.
Avery was a cute little cow! There are only a few times when a girl can dress up like a cow and not get made fun of, and that is when you are 2! There is a pic of the rear of the cow, it was hilarious. It had a wide rear and she waddled when she walked.
We had a fun night and enjoyed being able to be with the cousins!
The frightening part of the night came later that night. Avery has been feeling really bad for a while now, well our whole family has been waging a war against a horrible cold. Sunday will be 2 weeks. We thought she was feeling better, no more snot-rockets and hardly any coughing, so we thought we were getting all better. I took her to the doctor on Tuesday and she got an all clear from him but gave us a prescription for an antibiotic just in case she was still snotty this weekend that it might be a sinus infection and if it wasn't better by this weekend to go ahead and start the antibiotic. She has never had an antibiotic before so I was kinda hesitant to give her something that we weren't too sure that was what was really going on. Well we got home from Ty's and she was a little warm, thinking it was due to the cow costume, took her temp and she had a low grade fever. We gave her some Motrin and less than 10 mins later she was throwing up all over my area rug in the living room! Poor thing didn't know what was happening to her! Got her all cleaned up (not too sure what to do about my area rug, its outside) put to bed and around 5 in the morning I hear her on the baby monitor making moaning sounds. Brian goes and checks on her and she is BURNING up and had thrown up all over in bed! Ugh. She had a 103 temp and her heart was racing. Gave her some Motrin and gave her some pedialite, poor thing wanted milk. My poor dad got a phone call at 6 his time asking for advice. Why is it no matter how old you are or how much medical knowledge I have, I still need my parents advice! So we decided to go ahead and get her antibiotic filled, so off to Walgreen's I went at 6 in the morning. Got her good and dosed up, while dancing around to the Wiggles (can't be feeling that bad) and back to bed at 7 am and got Delaney back to sleep and Brian and I fell back into our bed for a couple more hours. Hopefully our day goes a lot better and Avery will get better.
Now I am off to try to find out how to get the yucky smell out of my house! If this is what trick-or-treating is like for us, we will skip it next year:)!

OK- I was laughing outloud at Avery! She was the cutest cow! That costume is hysterical! And Delaney is so sweet. I love the picture of her looking and smiling over Brians shoulder. Cute pictures of Kailey, Brynn, and Brooklyn too!

Girls, girls, girls! And they all have such cute costumes. That stinks that Avery got sick everywhere. Was she secretly chowing down on the candy? Just kidding. I HATE vomit, so I don't envy cleaning that mess. So sorry...
