I have been told to update our blog, but I don't know where Brian has placed the USB cord, so pics to follow later.
We had a great Thanksgiving, we went to Ty (brother) and Holly's in AF. Brian got a free coupon for a 20lb turkey from work, so Holly was great enough to cook it (I have no idea what to do with a turkey)! It was yummy and the company was even better. Avery is learning how to share but we still had an incident where she basically tossed her little cousin into the wall for the toy she was playing with. As the day progressed, Brian and I realized she still desperately needs her nap! Or she might be charged with an assault with bodily injury. Luckily, Brynn survived and there was no blood. Holly made the best stuffing I have ever had. It had bacon chunks in it and who doesn't love bacon and things cooked in bacon grease, I sure wasn't complaining!
The funny (embarrassing) thing that happened during the night was when we went around the table and said what we were thankful for. All of Ty's girls said great things that they were thankful for and then it was Avery's turn. It went something like this:
Me: "Avery, what are you thankful for?"
Avery: "Papa!"
Me: "That's is great, is there anything else you are thankful for?"
Avery: "POOP!" grinning from ear to ear!
Can you tell we are potty training??? But truth be told, we are thankful for that when she does it in the potty! She knows that her mommy and daddy get really happy about it! What a funny little girl!
Friday I decided to be brave (read: CRAZY) and do some Christmas shopping. I figured while Brian was home, I might as well take advantage of the baby sitter and go alone. It really wasn't that bad, I went to Old Navy and of course my favorite store, Target. I didn't go until that afternoon, which probably helped with the madness, but the stores were pretty picked over. I am pretty much done shopping for the girls. I am having second thoughts on the big shared gift for the girls and might take it back. I got them the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn, but after reading some reviews, I don't know if it is worth the money I spent on it. I was grateful that Brian was home with the girls and I could have some quiet time to shop.
Last Tuesday my visiting teacher came over with her little boy who was dripping with snot from his nose and his eyes were leaking horribly. So of course, Avery has had a cold for a week and now its Delaney's turn! What fun! I was hoping to go a little while longer longer without another cold, but I guess not! My sister said it perfectly, visiting teachers are there to help you not make things worse for you! UGH!
I hate to admit this, but Avery is addicted to her Binky, UNTIL NOW! Last Wed, we went cold turkey and she hasn't had one since! She is sleeping good at night and for naps, she occasionally will ask for it, but we keep telling her her binky is broken or we don't know where it is. I am so glad that this stage is over. Way to go, Avery!
