We Are a Happy Family!

At, least for now! This past week has been very trying for all members of our family. I FINALLY cut the umbilical cord with Delaney. She is almost 15 months and she had not self weaned from nursing, so I decided that it was going to have to be by my doing. I always had thought that she would wean from me, hoping it would of been a lot sooner than now, but it didn't work out that way. She was only nursing morning, naps and before bed. But, I was getting to the point where I wasn't enjoying it anymore and hadn't for a while. I was ALL touched out and wanted my body back! So, Friday we ended it. And, when I say we, I mean, I!

It was a rough couple of days at our house. I am so glad it was a 4 day weekend for my dear husband so that he could distract her. There were many times when the crying was so rough, I was thinking about giving in. But, I didn't and tomorrow will be a full week! Our home is now a happy home. The saying is so true, "If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"

I'm so happy for you.
Avery looks SO big in the pictures. She doesn't look like a baby or toddler anymore- she totally looks like a little girl. She is growing up!

Good for you Lauren! The end of nursing is always a bitter sweet experience. Both my boys quit nursing at 13 and a 1/2 months. Does Delaney take a pacifier?
