Our FHE lesson on Monday night was on temples. We sang "I Love to See the Temple". The next day I heard Avery singing that same song around the house. I was so pleased with myself and thought to myself, "ok, alright, we are doing something right!" Well, at least until she got to the verse that says:
The temple is a House of God, a place of love and beauty.
but Avery sang:
The temple is a House of God, a place of freakin' beauty.
I almost fell to the floor! I immediately sat Avery down and told her that what she was singing was NOT the correct lyrics and sang it over and over and over and over again until I was confident she would not be singing HER version in primary!
When I told Brian about Avery's lovely version, he said that I must of taught her the song that way because he certainly wouldn't sing it like that.
NEXT lesson for FHE is "Parents who need to watch their use of words!" You would of thought we would of learned by now!
Another cute Avery story happened this morning. Avery has a way of coming into my room and standing over me while I am sleeping. It creeps me out. I was still too tired this morning to get right up so I had her crawl into bed with me while I tried to go back to sleep.
Avery starts rubbing the back of my arms and asks me "Mom, why do you have stripes on the back of your arm?" It took me a while to realize what she was saying.
After a few times of her relentless asking about my stripes, I finally responded...."THEY ARE STRETCH MARKS, OK!"
What a way to wake up this morning with my 4 yr old pointing out my flaws. I am wearing a long sleeve shirt to bed from now on.

Too funny! Avery cracks me up.
I almost peed my pants when I read what she was singing. That is sooo funny! (Sorry, but it is!)
both stories are funny...one of my biggest fears at night is waking up with a kid inches away from my face. Every so often they scare me awake, which hurts! I miss the squish sound of the diapers!
